The issue of odour control is significant across the waste industry and Dax Airscience technology is already used extensively by the operators in the sector.
Dax Airscience was created initially to offer PCO odour and infection control technology to the waste management industry. The AIRsteril technology has proved to be a cost-effective, alternative solution to traditional waste processing odour control methods. Already approved by the Environmental Agency (EA), the Dax Airscience technology is now incorporated in many Odour Management Plans (OMP) over many sites covering; materials recycling facilities (MRF), waste transfer stations (WTS)) energy from waste (EfW), refuse derived fuel (RDF) and other industries processing waste and recyclables.
Dax Airscience technology can be installed inside the building or around the perimeter at a high level. This creates an odour barrier and prevents odour permeating through the fabric of the building. Further units are then strategically placed over high odorous areas such as trommels, conveyors, shredders and balers, as well as around doorways. Dax recommends fast-acting doors and the control of the air within the building as essential.
This technology is currently in use in Europe’s largest indoor waste processing facility processing 1,000 tons of black bag household waste per day as the only odour mitigation technology.
